After much debate around the net weights, Ken has come to a decision.
With lots of anglers misjudging fish sizes (small net fish/large net fish and 10 big fish net limit) he has decided to put an 80lb limit on all nets. That means all fish of any size can be put into one net.
And there are still some penalties if over the said limit:
You are safe up to 5lbs over the 80lb and anything over that will be taken from the 80lb. So if you have 86lb then your net weight will be 74lb and so on.
Plus any net weighing over 100lb then that net only will be disqualified from the weigh-in. Not the angler.
Please keep track/count of your weights with a clicker etc.
Congratulations to Shaun and Barbara Greatbatch who were married in Norwich on Thursday 16th July.
Ken,
I am the guy that came yesterday after the match.
I would just like to thank you for letting me fish after the match, as I possibly had the best fishing I have ever had.
I left at 8 but in the 4 hours I was there I caught 27 carp, and after the initial half hour mostly a fish a chuck. The biggest coming out was 11lb and the smallest was somewhere between 4 and 5 lb.
I have spent days at other lakes with carp rods on buzzers and never come close to this, So thanks and I will definitely be coming again.
Regards,
Scott Whitehead.
27 anglers fished the Voland Roofing memorial match on Friday 3rd July held in memory of Brian Kleen who passed away in 2004.
Ken Gammon recalls ‘Brian and I were friends for years and I will always remember him as a quiet confident angler who never made a fuss of a not so good draw but just fished his peg. Always saying that he had a good day whatever. One of the neatest anglers I knew especially fishing pellet.
Cheers Brian, thanks for the memories’.
